Air pollution levels in London, England have been blamed for thousands of deaths per year.
Pierre Duquesnoy is Creative Director at a London based marketing agency, and he was inspired by the use of pigeons in the First and Second World Wars to deliver messages.
His idea is a little more high-tech.
A group of racing pigeons have been equipped with adorable backpacks that record nitrogen dioxide levels through out the city.
It’s not a solution to air pollution problem, but it is a very interesting way to raise awareness.
What’s super cool, is that you can send a tweet to @pigeonair with your location (if you are in London) and they will tweet you back with the air pollution levels for your area!
