TransLink appears to still be working out the kinks when it comes to its fare gates at SkyTrain stations.
During the morning rush prior to 7:30 at the Scott Road SkyTrain station all three fare gates at the eastern entrance were closed with no attendants in sight to help the disabled.
TransLink has responded in an email saying a SkyTrain attendant who had been at the gate had stepped away to help a customer and forgot to leave one gate open.
TransLink goes on to say customers and staff are still testing out the new Compass Card/fare gate system and procedures and protocols will be further tightened up as time goes on.
All fares gates will begin to close April 4th.
