And here’s a bizarre story involving the rescue of over 60 seagulls from a tofu factory.
Apparently the 62 gulls got caught in a tofu by-product waste-bin in an alley behind the Pender Street factory.
Laura Evans from the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC explains.
“Unfortunately, the gulls had gone in as they saw a food source, but because of the grate over top of that bin, they were actually unable to get out and they were getting soiled with the tofu mix.”
The wildlife group was able to rescue the animals yesterday evening.
“Some of them do have some injuries, so we’re treating those, but we’re taking blood samples, weight, and full exams on all of them together.”
Once they’ve healed, the seagulls will be released back into the Vancouver skies.
