A day after Maple Batalia’s killer was sentenced, the trial of his co accused is beginning.
Gursimar Bedi is charged with manslaughter and accessory after the fact in Gurjinder Dhaliwal’s brutal ambush of his ex-girlfriend in 2011.
The Crown alleges Bedi rented the white Charger used in that attack and that he also spied on Maple Batalia and reported her movements to her killer.
It’s also alleged that Bedi cleaned up the car.
Bedi’s trail is expected to last 10 days.
Gurjinder Dhaliwal was sentenced yesterday and will have no chance at parole for the first 21 years of his life term.
The defence agreed to the term, Lawyer Simon Beck said Dhaliwal wanted to say he was sorry for killing Maple Batalia, and he recognized it was a horrible thing he did.
