A local church is holding a vigil this evening for victims of the Fiji cyclone, which left tens of thousands of people homeless.
David McLauren with the Mosaic Community Church says the situation in Fiji is heartbreaking.
“Many people lost their lives and numerous people were displaced from their homes. People are looking for basic necessities.”
McLauren says the Lower Mainland has a very large Fijian population that is worried about their loved ones.
During the vigil they will hold special prayers for those affected and collect donations.
