WestJet’s President and CEO is responding online to allegations from a former flight attendant she was sexually assaulted by a pilot.
Gregg Saretsky has taken to WestJet’s website to say the company will file a statement of defense after being sued by the former flight attendant.
Saretsky says sexual assault is a serious matter and the company is taking a second at its own investigation of the matter six years ago to make sure all was done correctly.
He seems to indicate staff directly affected by the case have been taken out of active flying duty.
As for other possible victims he says no one else has stepped forward.
Saretesky says the company has a whistleblower hotline and its staff are encouraged to step forward to report any issues.
This comes after a petition calling for his resignation over the sexual assault allegations.
None of the sexual assault allegations have been proven in court.
