Delta police say they have found human remains at the site of a missing persons investigation in Delta.
Investigators have been digging at the unoccupied house on Tswawassen First Nation land since early this morning.
Police say they are now doing forensic testing, but believe the remains are connected to the case.
Police are not revealing the identity of the missing person, but say he has been missing since February 24th.
But acting Sergent Sarah Swallow says he may have been seen at the scene of the investigation.
“Any time that we have a scene that we know somebody was at, we will go to it and check it out. With this one, the investigators are doing a thorough forensic examination.
Police say they are treating the investigation as suspicious, but that there is no wider risk to the public.
Officers add that while the investigation is occurring on First Nation land, it is not connected to the Tsawwassen First Nation.
