According to CBS News, the Secret Service has confirmed that it was one of their agents involved in a physical confrontation with a photographer at Donald Trump’s rally in Radford, Virginia today.
The scuffle happened when a photographer Chris Morris allegedly stepped outside of the press pen to get a better shot of Black Lives Matter protesters who were disrupting the rally.
A Secret Service agent assigned to protect Trump blocked the photographer, who then swore at the agent, sparking a a fight between the two.
Morris claims the agent grabbed him by the throat and threw him to the ground.
He also told CBS News that his mistake was touching the agent. In the video clip by CBS reporter Jacueline Alemany, the photographer is seen grabbing the agent’s throat briefly, apparently to demonstrate how the Secret Service Agent had grabbed him to throw him to the ground.
The photographer was detained briefly, but not arrested, and he says he does not intend to pursue charges against the agent.
CBS News also confirms that the Secret Service says they are looking into what happened.
