BC Hydro is seeking an injunction against protesters they say are hindering construction to the Site C dam project near the south bank of the Peace River.
Lawyers have argued the cost of the protests to BC Hydro is around 8 million dollars.
Meanwhile, Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, president of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, says he is “vehemently opposed” to the project, saying it’s an archaic proposal that’s “been rejected time and again” by previous governments …
“The opposition will continue regardless of what happens within the context of this injunction that’s taking place in the BC Supreme Court today.”
The case is expected to continue until Wednesday.
