Fishing illegally in this province is becoming a costly endeavor.
Since September of last year, 22 people have been busted by the Fisheries and Oceans Canada for violating the Fisheries Act.
The total financial hit for the 22 offenders in fines levied, or items seized, such as boats, is more than $120,000.
Four months jail time, and 10 years worth of fishing prohibitions were also handed out.
Most of the people who were convicted are from British Columbia with two hailing from Calgary and Ottawa.
Most of the offences took place along the coast and on Vancouver Island, but one bust took place in the Cariboo North of Williams Lake.
