Another twist in an ongoing labour dispute between container truck drivers and their employers.
Gavin McGarrigle with Unifor says a group of trucking companies has filed a lawsuit to try to avoid paying drivers thousands of dollars in retroactive pay.
“They’re trying to challenge the new office of the container truck commissioner because they were finally enforcing the retroactive pay owed to drivers.”
Unifor says this fight is bad for stability at the Port of Vancouver.
The dispute has been dragging on for almost two years, since the truckers stopped working and put a halt to all movement of goods of out the port.
