Hometown Hockey will be making another stop in the Lower Mainland this weekend.
Abbotsford will play host February 20th and 21st. New Westminster was the most recent host of the event with broadcaster Ron MacLean touring parts of Canada for the Rogers Hometown Hockey tour.
The event includes meet and greets with NHL alumni, an opportunity to meet MacLean, the chance to be a broadcaster, and a live broadcast of the Vancouver Canucks vs Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night. There will also be free music and activities for everyone to enjoy at the two day event.
There are four teams in the running for the “cheer contest” at the Fraser Valley stop, where a team can win the ultimate NHL experience, including going to a Canucks game and meeting the players.
The teams are: the Chilliwack Stars, the Mission Mavericks, the Abbotsford C1 Tornadoes, and the Abbotsford Atom A1 Hawks. You can watch the videos and vote for your favorite team here.
Below is a preview of what’s to come this weekend featuring Vancouver Canucks rookie Jake Virtanen who hails from Abbotsford.
