A victory for the company behind the Trans Mountain oil pipeline.
Kinder Morgan Canada says it has signed a “community benefit agreement” with the City of Abbotsford.
It’s the first community along the pipeline route in that region to sign such a deal.
For giving its support, Abbotsford will get $1.3 million towards revitalizing the city-owned Ledgeview Golf Course.
The National Energy Board is holding hearings on the proposal to finish twinning the pipeline, which terminates in Burnaby, before delivering a recommendation to the feds this spring.
