The NBA All-Star Game was held in Toronto Sunday night, and the event appears to have already produced its first highlight reel moment… or perhaps one for the bloopers.
And it happened before the game even started.
U.S. R&B singer Ne Yo and Canadian pop icon Nelly Furtado were called on to sing their country’s national anthems.
But Furtado, accompanied by a first nations flute player, got off to a rocky start, appearing to sing the song to a different melody.
The singer picked up steam as the anthem went on, ending on a strong note and to heavy applause from the stadium.
However, response online was swift, and not nearly as kind.
Ultimately Team West reigned victorious, winning 196 to 173.
