Two parents are filling a lawsuit against the Vancouver Police Department claiming police officers wrongfully killed their son last year.
Margaret and Mark Gray are suing the VPD after their son was killed in an altercation with police in August 2015.
They say their 33-year-old son, Myles, was taking a break while delivering evergreen products to florists when officers approached him.
VDP were responding to a report of a distraught man causing a disturbance west of Boundary Road and allegedly chased him to the backyard of a home.
The family claims the seven officers at the scene wrongfully killed their son by beating him to death.
The lawsuit alleges police unlawfully blocked the investigation by the Independent Investigation Office by failing to notify them of the killing.
A statement of defense has not yet been filed, and none of the claims have been tested in court.
