The Premier has not met the new CEO of TransLink.
“I would have met with him by now if it was my job.”
Christy Clark says that is in fact the job of Metro Vancouver mayors.
Clark says her hope is Kevin Desmond will be able to get Translink into shape and deal with its challenges.
“I am delighted that the mayors have chosen somebody, which is there job. I hope what we get out of it is a transit system that is dependable, reliable, always there when people need it, and at a cost people can afford. That is what they are there to do. They have had some notable problems over the last little while so I am hoping that the new CEO will make sure that they avoid some of those.”
Desmond, who runs the King County transit system in Seattle, will be on the job here next month.
