The head of the local bus drivers’ union says the new TransLink boss has a massive challenge to try and right the ship.
Nathan Woods says job number one for the Kevin Desmond will be to win back the passengers’ trust because right now it is at an “all-time low.”
“I do think the same could be said for some of the employee groups under TransLink. So the challenge is monumental. It is really a hostile environment.”
Woods says other outstanding issues for the new CEO will be securing more transit funding, putting more buses on the road, and bargaining with unionized employees.
