After a scoreless first period, Calgary’s Michael Frolik put a shot into the back of the net to start the Flames’ lead about 6 and a half minutes in.
The score would remain 1-0 late into the third period, when Sean Monahan and Mikael Backlund each scored with less than 5 minutes to go.
With little more than a minute and a half left in the game, Emerson Etem put the Canucks onto the board, the Flames still leading 3-1.
Sam Bennett put the nail in the coffin with just over 30 seconds left, ending the game 4-1 for the Flames.
The Canucks will play Colorado on Tuesday at 6.
