A former Seattle private school cross-country ski coach has been handed an 8-year prison sentence, after secretly taping female students during a BC ski trip.
45-year-old Jason Paur pleaded guilty in November to transportation with intent to engage in criminal activity, for taping the 14 to 17 year olds on ski trips.
It happened in 2011, 2012 and 2013, but it wasn’t until the 2013 trip to Silver Star Mountain Resort near Vernon when he was busted.
Paur had positioned the cameras so he could catch the girls changing after having a shower.
Other videos of students were found after a search of his home.
U.S. Attorney Annette L. Hayes calls the situation a “betrayal of trust” that “is every parent’s nightmare.”
Paur had taught at the prestigious Bush School for 15 years before his arrest.
