People continue to pick up monthly passes on TransLink’s Compass Card — a month after the paper passes were taken out of circulation.
As of the morning of Feb. 1, 80,000 people have loaded a monthly pass onto the fare card, which is an increase from the number of people who had loaded a pass for January by the 1st of that month.
But TransLink officials say they expect the number to go up quite a bit more, as people buy their February passes this week.
In all, 137,000 people loaded monthly passes on a Compass Card in January — almost a quarter of all active cards in the system.
Stats from last month show about a quarter million different people tap a Compass Card each day on the system.
