“She’s a fighter, she is somebody who’s made remarkable progress in the last 12 hours and at this point she is in stable condition.”
The 19-year-old woman hit by an impaired driver in Abbotsford Monday afternoon is expected to make a full recovery.
Constable Paul Walker says a 30-year-old male driver was impaired by drugs at the time he hit the woman, and charges are pending.
Walker says the man struck a car at the Abbotsford Automall and sped away, but a short time later on Cardinal Avenue, the same truck hit the young woman.
“We are continuing to appeal to witnesses at both scenes to come forward and speak to police.”
Walker wouldn’t comment on what kind of drugs the driver was high on.
