The immigrant settlement agency MOSAIC is releasing a healthy eating guide that encourages recent immigrants to incorporate more local food, particularly seafood, into their diets.
Ninu Kang of MOSAIC says they completed a survey of recent immigrant’s eating habits.
“What we learned is that people are eating seafood, but necessarily the local seafood that we have here.”
The cookbook project features the recipes from celebrated local chefs.
“A majority of the chefs that have contributed to this cookbook are immigrants themselves and have really adapted the local foods to the ethnic and fusion recipes.”
The cookbook is available for free online at the MOSAIC website.
