As concerns continue to grow over the Zika virus, BC’s Health Minister says people need to take extra care travelling to South and Central America.
Terry Lake says there are concerns for pregnant women thinking of travelling to those regions.
But he adds the province won’t be taking an official position on warning Olympians travelling to Brazil in August.
“I think they’ll be very well informed by the Olympic committee about the dangers. Anyone paying attention to the news lately will know that. Anyone travelling should seek advice from their medical practitioner.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s government is warning as many as 1.3 million in that country alone are infected with the Zika virus.
