A parents’ group has delivered postcards and a petition to Premier Christy Clark’s office, asking for more funding for education.
Andrea Sinclair, who speaks for the Parent Advocacy Network, says parents need to do more to address the lack of cash.
“I think what parents are realizing, we have the power and the numbers that we are. The more parents that are doing something, the more the government is likely listening to us. We’re the taxpayer base. So, it’s great that all these people are out here today, but for all the parents who are supporting us behind the scenes, that’s also great, but we need more parents to do more writing and make their voices louder and heard.”
Sinclair says 1,500 signatures were handed over to the premier’s staff.
She says the province needs to follow recommendations from an all-party finance committee, which also asked for more education funding.
