The federal government is inching closer to its goal of welcoming 25,000 Syrians to Canada by the end of next month.
13,764 Syrian refugees have now arrived in Canada since November 4th.
Almost 8,000 are government-assisted, nearly 5,000 are privately sponsored, and 850 came to Canada through the blended visa program.
According to Immigration and Citizenship Data, 923 government-assisted refugees have landed in Vancouver, and an additional 40 privately sponsored Syrians.
33 government-organized flights have landed in Toronto, and 19 in Montreal.
An additional 5,600 applications have been finalized.
Here in B.C., just over 1,200 refugees have arrived.
