A magnitude 7.1 earthquake hit Alaska Sunday morning in an area prone to quakes.
The quake hit about 261 km Southwest of Anchorage.
Emergency Information B.C. tweeted, there is no tsunami threat for British Columbia.

The quake awoke residents throughout Alaska, as buildings shook.
There are scattered power outages, but no injuries or damage has been reported.
