Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has told the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland that everyone must benefit from economic growth, for that growth to be sustainable.
“It’s not hard to see how the connections between computing, information, robotics, and bio-technologies could deliver spectacular progress. It’s also not hard to imagine now it could produce mass unemployment and greater inequality. The technology itself will not determine the future we get. Our choices will. Leadership will.”
The prime minister used his keynote address entitled, “The Canadian Opportunity” to differentiate himself from former prime minister Stephen Harper, who often used meetings of the World Economic Forum to tout Canada as a resource powerhouse.
