Romantics across the country are quivering with anticipation, as W Network prepares to launch its inaugural season of The Bachellorette Canada.
Speaking with Drex yesterday, Executive Producer Claire Freeland said while the cast will be 100% Canadian, the show will keep all of fans favourite elements like visits to the suitors hometowns.
“Like the US show, we will travel the show internationally as well and have all of those really big epic romantic fairy tale like dates.”
And just like the U.S. show – every week the Bachellorette will “vote off” one of the guys by dismissing them with a single rose.
Freeland says right now the question is casting the right men – guys with a good career and family life who are just looking to settle down (also known as unicorns).
As they tour across the country, Freeland has some advice for potential suitors:
“Dress to impress. Imagine you are getting out of the limo for the first night – do something that’s going to make us remember you. We’ve had people bake us pies in the past…”

Eric goes looking for love
Of course, as soon as it became clear the show was in town and casting today… we had to send Eric down.
Regular listeners, you probably think you know him pretty well – but those Bachellorette people, well – they really got down to brass tacks with our guy.
Tune in to hear Eric grapple with tough questions like:
- What’s your best pickup line?
- Describe your dream woman?
- How would you deal with competition from other suitors?
- How would you make a lasting first impression on the Bachellorette?
- What would be your message to the Bachellorette if we could tell her right now?
