As the Federal Government asks for advice on crafting its first budget, the Vancouver Board of Trade has sent a list of B.C projects it thinks need funding.
Board of Trade President and CEO Iain Black wants the Trudeau Government to foot the bill for a number of west coast infrastructure projects.
“The expansion of Roberts Bank and Terminal 2, the replacement of the Massey Tunnel that the Provincial Government is focused on, the replacement of the Pattullo Bridge, rail capacity within Vancouver, and the widening of Highway 1 between Kamloops and Alberta.”
Black also wants the Feds to come to the rescue for transit projects left in limbo after the failed transit plebsicite.
“The rapid transit expansion in Surrey and also the Broadway line extension.”
He says the costs should be split between the Federal and Provincial governments, with the load lightened for civic governments.
