After a scoreless second period, Valtteri Filppula pulled the Lightning ahead 2-1 with more than 7 minutes left.
Bo Horvat put the Canucks back onto an even 2-2 with just under 3 minutes left in the third period, ultimately taking the game into overtime.
It was a tense few minutes, but the Lightning’s Nikita Kucherov put the final puck in the net with just over a minute left to seal the deal.
