Vancouver police are releasing more details after another party bus death last night.
Police say around 9:30pm Saturday night a 23 year old woman fell out of an open door on a party bus as it turned South onto Burrard street.
VPD say the woman was then hit by the bus.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.
A VPD collision team continues to investigate at Burrard and West Hastings.
The driver is co-operating with police.
The latest party bus death in Vancouver has brought back horrible memories to Julie Raymond, who lost her daughter 8 years ago after a party bus incident.
“It takes Danielle and I right back to the police ringing our doorbell that dreadful morning, you know at Shannon’s death. It’s absolutely senseless.”
Raymond has been a safety advocate ever since her daughter’s death, and she says security measures such as chaperones must be mandatory to prevent further accidents.
“It’s not reasonable that you can expect somebody to be driving those vehicles with 25 people behind them. The drivers are responsible for that property, as well as the safety of the people on board; it’s just not reasonable.”
Raymond says her thoughts are with the woman’s family and hopes no more tragedies are needed in order for tougher security measures to be implemented.
Vancouver Police have yet to release the name of the victim.
