The organizer of the Syrian welcoming event that was pepper sprayed, says he fears this won’t be the only attack.
“I’m worried that it might happen again.”
Tarek Ramadan is with the Muslim Association of Canada. He says that despite Canada’s welcoming environment, history shows that more violence may be coming.
“For us as a Muslim community, to be honest, we’re accustomed to this, because it’s not really the first attack that happens on Islamic centres or mosques.”
Ramadan says that in spite of this, The Muslim Association will continue to put on events and celebrate the Syrian Refugees.
Vancouver police are still looking for a suspect.
