A ray of hope for a North Vancouver RCMP volunteer looking for possible stem cell matches as she receives treatment for leukemia.
This after her colleagues hosted a stem cell clinic.
141 men between the ages of 17 to 35 came out turned out to see if they’d be able to help Nancy Taylor.
Corporal Richard de Jong with North Van RCMP says it’s a chance to help not only Nancy, but others…
“The Canadian Blood Services…they’re the ones who put on the clinic, and we sponsored the opportunity to have their DNA – if you will – put into a bank, and it’ll be determined if there is a match for Nancy or for anybody else. Actually, worldwide, if there is someone looking for a stem cell match, and is in need of one.”
Nancy has been giving back to the North Van community for decades.
