Almost three years into a paid suspension from the RCMP, it looks like an Okanagan officer will finally have a conduct hearing.
Const. Amit Goyal has been collecting a paycheck without work since the middle of 2013.
Two separate hearings into his conduct were set for this past summer, but both were cancelled.
It’s a reminder of how long things took under the RCMP’s old discipline system.
But a hearing has now been set for March 8, and it will be open to the public.
The Mounties have never come out and said what Goyal is accused of doing, although his suspension followed two incidents involving his vehicles reported stolen, and then discovered burned out on the outskirts of Osoyoos.
No criminal charges were laid.
