A suspended B.C. RCMP officer remains on paid leave and his disciplinary hearing date is still unclear.
Const. Amit Goyal with the Osoyoos detachment has been suspended with pay since at least July 2013 and was supposed to have his conduct hearing this past July.
But it was rescheduled to August, and then postponed indefinitely.
The Province newspaper posted photos from Goyal’s Facebook account, appearing to show visits to Las Vegas, Italy, and other places while on leave.
In a statement to CKNW, Staff Sgt. Rob Vermeulen says Goyal’s case falls under an old discipline system that is less quick and efficient than the RCMP’s newer model.
