The annual Christmas luncheon at the Richmond Centre White Spot raised a record breaking $11,288 dollars for the Richmond Hospital Foundation.
The restaurant serves a lunch on Christmas day where staff volunteer their time and tips to charity.
For server Stephanie Martin, who has been working at White Spot for 10 years, the dinner is a chance to spend time with her “second” family.
“Christmas is all about family, and we just work together so much that we love each other. I could imagine spending my day otherwise.”
Manager Charlie Tsang acknowledged the staff’s generous contribution.
“We as managers or owners of this location would not be able to do this unless the staff come on board to come in and help out. And we always thank them for dedicating Christmas day.”
Over 57 staff helped out at the lunch yesterday.
The Kingsway Vancouver White Spot also participated, raising over seven thousand dollars for the Variety Children’s Charity.
