While Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still top of mind for many, there are a flurry of new releases in theaters for Christmas Day.
Most of the six films are surrounded by awards season buzz.
The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and director Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight already have a number of nods under their respective belts.
Jennifer Lawrence’s movie, Joy, has a Best Actress nod for the Golden Globes.
Will Smith’s performance in Concussion garnered him a Best Actor nod – also for the Golden Globes – despite the movie receiving mixed reviews.
Rounding out the six new releases: Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell in the comedy Daddy’s Home, and a remake of Point Break.
