The Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board is releasing more information as the city’s police chief is investigated for misconduct.
Chief Frank Elsner has stepped aside as he is investigated for possible disciplinary breach of trust and workplace harassment.
Earlier this month, he apologized after he sent inappropriate social media messages to a subordinate officer’s wife.
Not long after, the city’s police union announced it had lost confidence both in Elsner, and in the Police Board’s ability to handle the scandal.
On Thursday, the B disclosed how much each board member earns, as well as how much Elsner earns: about $206,000 a year. He’s on paid leave.
The board has also hired a public relations consultant.
