An $80-million class-action lawsuit settled over price-fixing by memory chip manufacturers 15 years ago has paid up for those aggrieved consumers.
Those who signed on receiving their share yesterday — $20.00.
Now that may not be the Christmas windfall you’d expect from a multi-million dollar lawsuit, but one of those who signed on was Peter Vogel — he says it’s not a bad return considering what it took to sign on.
“It required no more than thirty seconds of work to fill in an entry to say that you have indeed bought some computer gear over the period in question; money well returned.”
While no proof of purchase was needed, the website “The Money Is Mine” did ask for a name, home address and an email.
