“People tend to go really fast down this road at night time.”
That, from a witness to a deadly hit and run in Langley this weekend.
Lana Lewis lives on the stretch of 200th street near 28th avenue where the deadly crash happened Sunday.
She says she was at home early that morning, when she heard something outside that sounded wrong.
“I could hear the cars going past, and this one car that went past, it didn’t. It had impact.”
Lewis asks that the person responsible for the hit and run turn themselves in, saying she doesn’t believe it was intentional.
Lewis says people frequently speed along her stretch of 200th street.
The BC Coroner’s Service has identified the victim of the hit and run as 44-year-old Daniel Patrick McAuley.
McAuley was found lying in the road in the early hours of Sunday morning, and pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner says weather and visibility were poor at the time.
Police do not have a description of a vehicle involved, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
