It was a nasty surprise one Surrey woman won’t soon forget.
Police say she woke up in her own bed early Sunday morning to discover a strange man asleep beside her.
“We’re not sure what the motive was,” says Cpl. Scotty Schumann. But police say they are looking at sexual assault as a possible factor.
The incident happened in a home near 64 Avenue and 121 street.
Surrey RCMP describe the suspect as a 22-year old aboriginal man, 6’0″, with a slim build, a black sweater, and a black and grey baseball cap.
RCMP will be canvassing the area to gather more information, and are reminding people to be careful about securing their homes.
“This is a good opportunity to remind people, even when they are at home, to ensure their ground level doors and windows are secure.”
