A 40 year old man is okay, but lucky to be alive, after skiing out of bounds on Hollyburn Mountain.
He called his wife around 1:30 yesterday to let her know he’d gone out of bounds, but would try to make his way to safety.
Global News reports she was concerned and tried calling him at 3:30 pm, as he was still missing.
Police would later get North Shore Rescue involved.
His cell was out of range so teams had to hike in and look for him.
They eventually tracked him down around 11:30 last night and authorities say given the high avalanche risk, the man is quite fortunate to have been rescued uninjured.
