The number of privately sponsored Syrian refugees heading to B.C. is edging up, thanks to a boost in applications from the Interior.
About 235 refugees are now coming to this province — up from the 214 expected at the beginning of this month.
While the number of applications for Metro Vancouver remains relatively unchanged, the interest from other parts of the province is taking off.
According to information published by the federal government, nine applications are expected from Kelowna, and 10 from Prince George.
