Well known Canadian music journalist Nardwuar The Human Serviette has suffered a stroke, and is recovering in Vancouver General Hospital.
The incident happened Saturday night during a Mint Records party at the Astoria pub.
Nardwuar broke the news on social media today, where he published a photo that appears to have been taken from inside an ambulance during his transport. It’s still unclear what his condition is.

The 47 year old, who was born John Ruskin, began his career with UBC’s campus radio station CiTR, where he’s had a show since 1987.
He is known for his quirky personality, music knowledge and deep research on interview subjects, and unusual interview style.
His decades worth of interviews include with industry leading musicians, among them Snoop Dogg, Courtney Love, and Wycleff Jean. He has also taken on cultural figures from acid guru Timothy Leary to NBA star Metta World Peace.
Nardwuar is also known for his forays into the Canadian political world. Following 1997 RCMP crackdown on APEC protestors at UBC, he famously asked Prime Minister Jean Chretien about the pepper spraying of students, eliciting response “for me, pepper I put it on my plate.”

He has also successfully managed to convince the majority of Canada’s major federal political leaders at one point or another to do the “hip flip” with him.
