Bullets flew in a residential area of Surrey on Monday.
RCMP Corp. Scotty Schumann says officers rushed to the scene in the 12700 block of 67B avenue where about ten shots were taken at a Newton home.
All the officers found were bullet casings and no victims.
“This is a densely populated residential area so when ever something like this occurs there is always the risk that somebody could be struck as an innocent bystander.”
Schumann says officers are still looking for witnesses and they do not have a description of the suspect or suspects.
Schools in the area were briefly locked down.
At this point, police do not know if the shooting is linked to an ongoing drug trade battle.
