It appears the expected storm is taking its time as it works its way towards the coast.
Environment Canada is now warning of the first storm’s arrival sometime early Saturday morning.
This will be the first of what it describes as “a series of moist Pacific storms” over the next several days. All of which will bring strong winds and heavy rain, with the west coast of Vancouver Island likely to be the hardest hit.
According to the BC Hydro website, there are still nearly 1500 customers without power in Metro Vancouver and on the Sunshine Coast due to last night’s storm, mostly in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.
For more information on what to do in a windstorm, Coquitlam RCMP released an information bulletin called Five on the Fifth: What to do in a windstorm, or any emergency.
