There is new hope in the fight against prostate cancer.
Scientists at the BC Cancer Agency have announced what they call a “ground-breaking” new treatment that’s now in clinical trials.
The drug attacks prostate tumors using a pathway that has never before been achieved.
Doctor Marianne Sadar with the cancer group says this is a huge step towards finding a cure.
“This happened in British Columbia, but the world is the audience of the BC cancer agency now. We have developed the first new drug in twenty five years and hopefully this discovery ends up being successful and going throughout the world.”
If the human trials succeed, she says the treatment will be made available to everyone in the coming years.
