The 103rd Grey Cup is being played out in Winnipeg between Edmonton and Ottawa today, but you wouldn’t know it here in Vancouver.
It was eerily quiet in this downtown Vancouver sports bar, where the mood from the clientele was admittedly muted.
“If I’m in a bar, I’m going to watch. But not in an interested way.”
There are a few people here, but nearly every TV is showing the Seattle SeaHawks game.
Bar manager Budameir says it was different last year when Vancouver hosted the Grey Cup.
“You know what last year, when it was in BC, the room filled up and everyone was really busy. But this year, clearly not so much.”
He says while hockey reigns supreme, Vancouverites at his bar prefer European and American football.
