The BC SPCA is looking for information after a cat was discarded at a dump in Cranbrook.
The black cat named Malala had her legs tied together, bleeding, her tail severed and extremely dehydrated and emaciated.
Fortunately, a Good Samaritan found her and rushed the cat to a vet for emergency care.
East Kootenay Branch manager Breena Baker says it horrifies her to think someone would do something like this to any animal, and then toss it away like trash.
The cost of the cat’s care is expected to be nearly 12-hundred dollars.
Anyone with information on how Malala ended up at the Cranbrook dump is being asked to contact BC SPCA.
