B.C.’s Criminal Justice Branch has appointed another lawyer to help the RCMP as they look into a critical report about the B-C government.
Last month, the privacy commissioner slammed the province for its Freedom of Information practises.
She found employees at more than one ministry, as well as the Premier’s office, were mass deleting emails.
One staffer, George Gretes, was found to have lied under oath during the investigation.
Denham alerted the RCMP, who are now following up.
Special prosecutor Mark Jette has been appointed to provide the police with legal advice.
A different lawyer had been given the job last week, but quickly withdrew over a possible appearance of conflict of interest.
